Ribh's D'Coopage

They are super sweet chickens. 🥰 I have been very lucky.

She is spectacular! Several of my girls have wonderful feathering but even so she stands out. Her colouring is an absolute joy! :)

Gloriana did lose ~ big time. She has lost every dominance display I've seen. It's weird because she is a big girl & going to be even bigger.

As she's matured she has begun displaying those less attractive Sansa~like qualities ~ but has yet to reach Sansa extremes. I'm hoping she won't go that far. And mostly she doesn't do it to the lot she arrived with, though she does tend to bully Portia a bit. Portia is still a big fluffy baby. Gloriana is now the lead hen of that lot ~ for the present. I think there may be some trouble as Freya becomes more sure of herself.
My largest girl was bullied luckily she has now found her way and eats the same time as my other little fluffy :)

Thank you and I believe you directed me on that sand I need for my girls, a friend is going to pick some up for me, so thanks again for that :hugs
You're welcome. My man is a builder & a horticulturalist. I've heard more than any sane person ever needs to know about sand.

I've not really had too much bullying amongst my girls ~ though the big girls are moulting & pretty cranky just now. I've been careful about which breeds I've chosen but my last buy the man meddled & I have several birds I would not have brought home. So far not too much trouble with them but I don't like bullies in a mixed flock . I have too many small birds.

I had one little one bullying , I made a separate bedroom for her at night and it all ceased. The bullies girl was really annoyed with me and lately they are the three musketeers.

How did Marlow get his name Ribh?
We lost a cat in really tragic circumstances. He was very much my cat & incredibly protective of me, just like a dog. I was devastated. There are no words for the loss of a companion like that. The man decided the best thing to do was to send me off with my girls to acquire more cats. We checked the shelters online because I like big fluffy boofers. We had to travel a couple of hours to this shelter & found out that Marlow was an older kitten ~ nearly 6 months~ & he was bonded with his brother, Kirby. The shelter had named them & I just felt they were too old to change. Marlow had bonded with his carer [he is a very loving puss] so the whole thing was really hard for everyone. Keeping his name just seemed the kindest thing to do @ the time.
