Ribh's D'Coopage

This one isn't mine, it's too dark to take a photo at the moment, but isn't it gorgeous?

Edit: I think I may have a "thing" for Australian Native Plants. Sorry for spamming your thread Ribh. 😔
I miss these. :( You don't see them in our neck of the woods & I too am very fond of them. The colours are amazing. Wouldn't worry about spamming. I like a good red herring or nice derailment. ;)

I love that. You should post the photos o each stage. I am very curious as to how you "felt"

I haven't finished a video of needle felting a chook yet but I have taken some still photos showing different stages for anyone who is interested.

The "skeleton" or armature that the piece is built around.

Stabbing with a felting needle to hold in place.

Lightly felted to hold in place. This will need lots more stabbing to felt firmly, then lots more wool added and needle felted to get the shape of a hen.

This is the piece I'm currently working on. You can see she looks lot more like a hen! I'm attempting to make her look like my RIR Deana who is quite a ...er, "round" girl.

This gives an idea of how much wool is needed to build up the shape.

Almost ready to start adding her feathers, comb and wattles!
