I really don't know either but Shad said not to let them [& I figure he would know] but egg breakage seems the mostly likely reason. If you'd seen what I saw this morning...

Thanks, ACM. Luna didn't stay but Alpia arrived & went completely tropo @ Ceres. Grabbed her by the scruff of the neck & literally tried to drag Ceres off the nest. I gave her the egg Luna had just laid & she happily went into the end box. I need to check what she's decided to do. Just now I wouldn't object to another broody because Ceres is so tiny but it's out of my hands.

Poor Ceres. She is just so irresistibly fluffy. She looks so comfortable to sit on.

I have not been in the backyard with my chooks since Monday morning and I am missing them.

My left knee “blew up” on Monday afternoon and I have spent the time resting it and going to various medical appointments.

Luckily my family has taken up some of the slack but it is not the same.

I’m going to try and hobble out there this afternoon. Hubby has put my stool on wheels out there.

I have not been in the backyard with my chooks since Monday morning and I am missing them.

My left knee “blew up” on Monday afternoon and I have spent the time resting it and going to various medical appointments.

Luckily my family has taken up some of the slack but it is not the same.

I’m going to try and hobble out there this afternoon. Hubby has put my stool on wheels out there.

Ouch. I am so sorry. It sucks when you start missing the friends you can't visit. I visit my girls multiple times a day & they always rush to greet me. If I'm in the run most of them forage round my feet. If I sit outside everyone congregates near that fence. My squatters squat. My cuddlers ask to be picked up. Everyone wants a word or two. It's chaotic if I'm away for even a day. I do hope your knee is better soon.

Ceres has been off the nest; Wrold has not.
The girl did everything @ warp speed.​

Here she is heading back.
She has 5 eggs under her so I figure she'll manage the 1/2 dozen I'll put there. They'll be smaller than the fake eggs too.
