Ribh's D'Coopage

Good evening folks :frow

I don't know that there is one. I am just treating the headache & the itching.
Jeannie, the most common problem here with ticks is lime disease. They can test for and treat it. Talk to your doc...
Edwina has laid her first egg!:wee:celebrate

Deana's (left) and Tsuki's (right) for size comparison.

I'm a bit disappointed it's not green but it is quite a dark brown. I certainly won't confuse it with the other eggs!

She is 21 weeks old and has been checking out the nesting boxes for over a week but this egg was under their favourite bush. Go figure :idunno
New eggs are soooo exciting. :celebrate

So I now have tick poisoning...they are so tiny you can't see them even when the itch begins & both John & I have been bitten. We are blaming Kirby.

Which did not make today's mainland trip any fun @ all. I am seriously considering Guinea keets.

I'm so sorry. How serious is is it there? Here the deer ticks can make you ill for life.

Congratulations! That is always so exciting.

Congratulations!:highfive::ya:woot:wee

Keets = baby guinea fowl. They clean up ticks even better than the chooks do. Because we have so much bush the ticks can be a real problem.

I had deer ticks in my butterfly bushes. Once my flock found them they were no more. Of course the deer ticks we have here are clearly visible.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I have learned something new! I wonder if they are as destructive as chooks?

Sorry your neighbor is being contrary, in the city I was blessed with amazing neighbors, even though chickens were not permitted I think we could have gotten away with it, maybe not roosters but... just talk to each other! I mean really calling in code enforcement as a first step rather than saying “I’m not ok with your chickens crossing this imaginary boundary they don’t even know is there”? Are you awfully urban? And do you know if you’re in a fence in or fence out state? Not that it really matters in the ‘burbs :(

While I live "in town" my county is extremely rural. "In town" is about 6 square blocks. Within town limits you can have any type of farm animal except for pigs/hogs.

She's just a miserable person. She won't even acknowledge our kids when they say hello to her.

Piccies ~ because the garden, you know...

How beautiful!! I always loved how easy orchids grow in OZ. When I was on the horse forum one of the ladies had a HUGE shade house and the orchids she grew just blew my mind.
