Theoretically there is no Lime's Disease in Oz [there are people saying they have it]~ but some tick venom can make you quite ill for a day or 2: headache, rash, nausea & vomiting in extreme cases ~ & of course they itch like nobody's business & swell up round the bite. Paralysis ticks can kill an animal over time.
Not as destructive as chooks. They only go for the bugs, like ducks only nowhere near as messy & destructive. A few people on the island have them. They can be quite noisy apparently but I've never noticed & you need keets because if you get mature birds they keep trying to go *home*.

The man has 2 huge bush houses ~ mostly for air plants [we sell them] but we have some orchids as well & plan on putting a whole heap through the garden as well.
