I need to correct. We always called these top knot pigeons but technically they are crested pigeons. Regardless it's not mating/breeding season [though apparently they will breed year round] & they're monogamous.
Clearly they had some argument before even coming to the clothes line and then something tipped them over the edge.Yes. These pigeons usually seem to get along. They are very calm birds as a rule. There was no female in sight & the clothes line seems an odd thing to squabble over...All that mooning seemed very rude. Someone was really put out! And it's not breeding season.
In one year, I've gone from being celebrated and valued for going above and beyond to being punished. The difference is the new workload model.

They did slightly make me think of two brawling drunks in the street after the pubs close. I bet they can’t even remember what they were fighting about now!
it was so slapstick! Sooo comical! After a minute of no one landing any punches, one of them ran away and the other chased him before bouncing off a street sign!!
