Ribh's D'Coopage

She is quite high up the pecking order these days. Only Luna & Ha'penny are above her. She still tends to be something of a loner but is not picked on by anyone. And you'd never know Sif had been so ill. She scoots round as fast as anyone these days.
So glad Sif is fully mobile.
I think last time we chatted about Bernadette’s paralysis she was walking on her right hock and was getting pressure scabs/bumbles at the hock.
Here she is today which is not at all bad though you can see the tremble in her right leg which I assume is some kind of muscle fatigue.
I have stopped the physiotherapy in part because she gets plenty just by moving around and also because she is quite a handful now. I am keeping up the vitamin B2 because every time I have let up she has gone backwards.

Today is cold but not miserably so. I walked the 2 blocks to pick milk thistle.

I got a really big bag.
The girls came running as soon as they saw what I had.

Everyone was soon chowing down.
There will be nothing left when I check later on.

Thanks, MJ & Lozzy. So long as they don't confuddle me with scientific jargon I will manage. 😉 My girls, whom I homeschooled through high school, used to ask why history & science weren't taught the way I taught it. The answer is probably more because I was interested in making it interesting & exciting & generating a love for the subject rather than strict accuracy. I always figured that could come later when it was studied as a pure discipline.
Grrr, if I went to the National Library in Canberra I could look up hard copies, but it’s not available online. You could check with your uni to see if they have a subscription with the Applied Animal Behaviour Science journal, if they do you should be able to access it.

Just thought I'd share that the hens are still very shy of their treadle feeder, so we're still at the stage of it being held open.

On Sunday I went to close it and saw that it was already closed. Odd, thinks I, I must've closed it already.

I opened it and a pigeon flew out!! It must've imprisoned itself Sunday afternoon!! Gave me a heck of a start! At least it didn't go hungry, although I imagine it was getting rather thirsty :gig

The Sif Story is unbelievable. What an amazing recovery. I have high hopes that Bernadette will be like her. 🥰
