I would buy at least a cordless drill/screwdriver with a bunch of standard tools for simple jobs. Eg like this one:

It saves me a lot of time and asking for a stronger arm.
I built up my own toolkit, because I got sick of looking for hubby’s tools when I needed something!

The cordless drill was a game-changer for me. Now I'm willing to try all the power tools, even the chainsaw!
That was my experience too. I hesitated and then got a cordless drill and haven’t looked back. It is still my favorite tool but I like my saw too.
I am still a bit intimidated at the thought of a chain saw.

The trouble is I have used them & they wreck havoc on my wrists. If I can't use a hand tool then it has to go to someone else. My wrists are killing me today & all I was doing yesterday was twisting nuts into bolts. I know my limitations & a chainsaw is definitly beyond me! 😄

I do have a mitre (drop) saw, which is handy. Not battery-operated though.

Safety is of extreme importance when chainsawing and that includes proper maintenance of the saw and chain.
