Thanks, Lozzy. I have been away for weeks & returned to multiple dramas ~ like a hail storm blew up the modem... You wouldn't read about it. Also, Ash, unlocked then opened the front louvres & got out. She hasn't returned. My poor sitter was distraught but I've had issues with Ash & those louvres so definitely an Ash issue & not his fault. The broodies either ate or threw out all the eggs they were sitting on when I left & have accumulated a new lot... The grass was waist high thanks to all this summers rain & UNE is hell to navigate. I need a holiday!

Oh wow, that’s a lot! Definitely need to prioritise and I hope Ash shows up soon.

I have kicked Ha'penny off the nest & out of the coop; There were 2 dead chicks yesterday afternoon & while I don't know if she's responsible, she seems the most likely culprit. One was squashed in the nest. The other looked like it had been kicked out of the nest & expired near the door. I have left the bantams with a single egg. Looks like one of Chavi's, so perhaps another black chick.

As I was away, I have no idea when the hens set these eggs & have no idea when hatching is due.

I'm still hopeful Ash will eventually turn up & that's ok. I always wanted to be a crazy cat lady & now there's no~one to stop me.

Sorry about the chicks.

What a difference between Ha’penny and my Ini mini. Ini mini was a wonderful broody together with Black. Black stop mothering when she got hurt, but Ini mini never stoped caring for the Amrocks who are grown up, and 2 twice her size now. They still make a team after 6-7 months. and sleep together in the playhouse.

Caturday cat who doesn’t belong here. Licking left over yoghurt.
