I just need four eggs to bake a cake.

. We have 1 bantam pullet laying 4-5 eggs a week at the moment. Thats a bit tight for 2 persons. But we manage, we don’t bake cakes and only need 2 small eggs for a veggie pie.
Its nice we don’t need to buy xtra supermarket eggs. We buy enough extra eggs indirectly with all the biscuits, mayonaise and other processed food.

I have kicked Ha'penny off the nest & out of the coop; There were 2 dead chicks yesterday afternoon & while I don't know if she's responsible, she seems the most likely culprit. One was squashed in the nest. The other looked like it had been kicked out of the nest & expired near the door. I have left the bantams with a single egg. Looks like one of Chavi's, so perhaps another black chick.

As I was away, I have no idea when the hens set these eggs & have no idea when hatching is due.

Oh gosh. My darling Ha'penny is becoming the wrong kind of problem. Very sad.

This is Freya. She lives here now.
I'm still hopeful Ash will eventually turn up & that's ok. I always wanted to be a crazy cat lady & now there's no~one to stop me.

Thanks, Lozzy. Ash is super friendly & looks expensive with her Russian Blue coat. I suspect someone has taken her in.

Freya ended up @ the pound through no fault of her own or her owner & she is beautiful inside & out. A bit timid but I prefer not to have Alpha cats. They're a pain, always asserting themselves. She is fitting in well with the boys. No actual fighting but she's growling @ Marlow still. Not sure what she thinks he's done. Her tail is up, she gives purrs & comes for cuddles so I'd say she has adjusted well.

Sounds good so far.
