Some random images:
Black swans are back on the bay.
They come in when it's really dry out west.

Escapees digging up my garden.

The curlew chicks nearly all grown up.
They are great parents.
They nearly always raise all their offspring to maturity.​

So that's that curlews look like.

So that's that curlews look like.

These are an Australian species: bush stone curlews or thick-knees. I don't think they are related to true curlews. Could be wrong on that. These are what we get round here. Their wailing cry sounds like a child being murdered & can be quite un~nerving if you don't know what it is.
