Ribh's D'Coopage

Yes, I remember a lot of parasite issues first off with the farm chickens. I'm blaming the muggy weather & the ton of wild birds we have round here. I'll just have to be vigilant & do everyone regularly. Just happy to know what's going on & be able to treat it!

They may hate you for it for a bit, but really, it’s not that bad! And it’s for their own good! I find it a little strange that I have less wild bird interactions in the chicken tractors than they did in the old farm coop. The little birds would fly right in through the torn up chickenwire and the open soffits. Occasionally a little junko or finch will manage to find its way in and get “trapped”, but it’s fairly rare.

What are you using for it?

Here you go. It's just what my produce store has on it's shelves. It seems to be pretty effective. Within seconds of applying it I saw the 1st dying lice. When I checked everyone before bed Tuppence was still the only one showing up with dead carcasses. How no~one else has them I don't know! :hmm

I don't see wild birds in the coop but the run isn't covered & has several large trees that harbour everything from kookaburras to finches & very occasionally I see pigeons & doves in the run. They're notorious carriers & we have plenty of them around.

The girls are all mental this morning.

They were making such an alarm racket I went out to check on them. Most of them were standing upright staring down the hill & screeching. Nothing to be seen & they stopped as soon as they saw me & started the *Let us out! Let us out* racket. So I did. They hurtled past me. One lept in the air & everyone turned tail & fled back into the coop swearing! :lau They're out again now & all is peaceful but my poor neighbours. It's barely 7am here & they have been terrorizing the neighbourhood since sunup.:th

Jeannie, when will your daughter be home? It's getting close I think and I sooooo want you to give her a hug from us when she's finally home. :hugs
Another week. :) Nearly there.
