I think one of the nicest smells ever is that of fresh timber.View attachment 1972960
Sniffing appreciatively while the man & the lad did the math for verandah posts & rails, wall studs other odd bods.
Came home to this...

It is stinking hot.
Can't think anyone was happy about this arrangement but no~one was shifting!
“I think we need a bigger box”... “hey I got here first” “lay or get off the pot already!” “Ummmm... this is my box, go find your own.” They are funny about things sometimes, eh? What’s wrong with the empty next bo next door? My rehab girls are the same way. It’s a four foot long haybale... you could all lay on it together without touching each other, but no, there’s that one “special” spot that everyone just has to have![]()
I worried about the chicks getting suffocated when I had a three hens and two chicks crammed into one nest box for the night.I think one of the nicest smells ever is that of fresh timber.View attachment 1972960

Sometimes, if you save a couple of eggs they lay in one nest box and move it to another they'll split up.

There are several and some of them relocate the biddies instead of culling them. I'm thinking she might've been relocated then got lost from her new hime, found, then brought to my house.
Another hypothesis is lice n mites nibbling on her.
Yet another hypothesis is that she's quite old.
And another one: she's got some kind of circulation problem.
Those are my primary hypotheses. Maybe the vet will take one look, say "------------" and tell me how to treat it.
Hi y'all!
Thanksgiving was very busy at my house, but a very it was a very good time.
I had my MRI Friday morning. The results were posted and it does show some changes in both my brain and spine. I'm not sure what the next step is, but either way it is what it is.
The girls blessed me with a beautiful bunch of eggs on Thanksgiving.

Shadow was rooster #2. Now that Stanley has reached maturity he no longer wants to be rooster #3. Shadow and Stanley are currently working on the pecking order. Shadow needed a bit of ointment on his comb, so I took the opportunity to get a nice picture of him.

What makes this even more perfect is, Rich's last name is Cooper and he often goes by Coop. I want to use real chicken drawings not the cartoon ones though. Our "farm" name will be Coop's coop once we get our own place.
