Oh no! Naughty girl. She's @ it again!
All fluffed up & no chicks to raise.
She's still laying so for the time being she is being let go.![]()
Last night both Hepzibah & Soda were in nesting boxes. *sigh*
To get them on a roost I have to lift them off the nest & walk round the outside of the coop before I can deposit them on a roost where they belong. Hepzibah, who is lighter & far more docile, went complaining but without a hitch. Soda put me on my back in the pen. Ouch. Glad neither of us was really hurt but, oh, how I dislike a feisty broody!
I swear it's the heat sets her off! And sitting in a nesting box for hours, even with the front open & a sea breeze blowing, is just raising her body temp more! Nutter, that's what she is.Oh no! Naughty girl.
I'm going to hose her underparts a bit later on & cool her off. This is not healthy.Poor girl. Hormones driving her to it.
All mine have disappeared with the crabbers.I wonder if an esky ice block might help. Mary loves sitting on them in the worst of the heat.
IDK, would you like me to call him out? She's house sitting for the friend she was a bridesmaid for just after Christmas & about to catch up with her sister @ my mothers. Hopefully she is feeling more settled.
Whereabouts in Chile? I can't imagine anyone keeping chickens in Santiago. It's huge & mostly high rise apartments.
