Ribh's D'Coopage

Today Aurora was alone a lot. Opposite side of the yard. I don't like it. She doesn't seem fo mind but a lone hen is always at higher risk of something bad happening. :hmm
Yes. That needs to be rectified if possible. Not sick @ all?

Extremely active. She was tearing the yard up, running form spot to spot. Racing me to the back door. Checking on the newbies. She was full go today. No sick here.
Some chooks, surprisingly are loners ~ @ least some of the time.

That never posted, oops!

I toured a private car and motorcycle museum yesterday. I am not allowed to post pictures of the vehicles but there was one that made me think of my Aussie chicken friends.

They had a 1936 Matchless motorcycle of which there are like 5 to 7 left in the world. Here is the last inspection sticker on it.

Even when I'm looking at antique vehicles you are all not far from my mind.

Even without pictures... I’m jealous!

We shall see what happens when there are 3 more friends to hang with.

Hopefully integrations will even it out and someone will buddy up with her. Then she can have a partner for her adventures/mischief

It's tomorrow morning is what's worrying when they all wake up & find they're sharing space!

Hoping it all goes smoothly for you!

Shad, did you mean Araucanas here?
No, it was a general comment. I've noticed a few differences not only in what is considered show bird in the US compared to Europe and Asia, but 'ordinary' breeds.
I have for example had a couple of interesting discussions with the breeder the Marans here came from (he is French and live in Marans ;)) about what gets called BCM.

Stage one successfully completed.
All the new girls are in the big coop.
Transfer...interesting.
My senior Campine lost the plot & raced round the bottom of the coop like a mad woman before finally deciding to rejoin the flock. Yes it was dark. Didn't stop her in the least. She did try for a top roost but was persuaded otherwise.

She wasn't the only one to consider a higher roost more appealing. Even in the semi dark they were considering it.
The new girls did protest @ being moved. The Araucanas whined.
The Campines screamed.
