Did you see the GORGEOUS black standard poodle that just won Westminster Dog Show..?
And you see how Jovi is just standing and sitting.. I just tell her to stand still and it’s like she is showing... they are such natural show dogs.. and when she walks on a leash she prances just like the ones in the show ring... she’s so fancy :)

I did not but I will google it.

And here is Bon Jovi.. getting all fluffed up for the Mardi Paws parade tomorrow... she is definitely not too much... her hair on the other hand is another story :eek:View attachment 2038308View attachment 2038309View attachment 2038311View attachment 2038312
Are you sure that's a dog? I thought dogs looked more like this.

"Ohhhh, lovely, girlies."

Had a bit of that here. People turn up to visit the main house and mention they've brought their dog with them saying it will do the dog good to run around in the countryside.View attachment 2038183
I get some very hostile looks when I say they have to leave it in the car.
The rest of the conversation goes something like this.
"But our dog is very well trained, we took it to classes."
Me "okay put it's lead on and lets see what it does."
Dog gets out of car with lead on.
Me, "wait there a minute."
I go and find a chicken and place it a good distance from the dog and owner. Chicken heads off away from the dog and stranger at high speed.
Dog lurches at the fleeing chicken practically pulling the owner over in the process as the owner issues a string of commands that the dog doesn't pay the slightest attention to.
Me. "put the dog back in the car."

On the other hand there are a few people who come out here to walk their dogs. One man comes on a motor bike. He has a basket on the back and in the basket sits his Jack Russel Terrier. The man and I have a bit of a chat when I see him come by. We've been away from the dog for up to half an hour. The dog will not stir from that basket until the man gives the command.
One of cousins takes her dogs everywhere. It's very inconsiderate. I always have to put Blossom in a bedroom (she hates dogs) and supervise the chooks because she won't leave her dogs at home.

The dogs here are banned from my house and they know it.
Reasonable or not, I expect dogs to do a job here. Blackie (in the picture above) lived outside.
He would only come into the main house at bedtime and he slept in the hall by the door.

Standard poodles are so dignified and graceful. She’s beautiful. 😍

Aoife, in the video above, was eventually the 1st of the new chickens to venture into the run, closely followed by Alpia. Only Mhari, who always lays early, didn't get any run time. Aoife won't be getting any more run time any time soon.

I sat with the girls for the 1st hour & everything was going so well I decided to nick inside for a coffee & my crochet. The new girls had all just been hanging round my feet & not venturing too far from the door but with the keeper out of sight Aoife went straight up & over. She may have had a little encouragement. Hepzibah, Ha'penny & Lottie were all out as well but they are all biddable hens. Ha'penny promptly put herself back in the run; Lottie waited for me to scoop her up & Hepzibah squatted. Aoife went pretty much 20' straight up & flew 50! Straight out over the drop where I can't go due to the roughness of the terrain. 😲 Half an hour later I finally managed to corral her. Once I had her she calmed right down. Silly girl! She flies exceptionally well! 🤣

In all the hoo~ha Aoife kept circling back towards the coop so @ least she knew where *home* was & was desperately attempting to get there but unlike Ha'penny hasn't figured out how to get back *in* the run!

Alpina also decided up & out was her next move but I was right there to discourage her & she didn't object to being handled. I've had about a week's exercise & everybody is back in the coop with some cabbage while I recuperate!

A lot of tradies in Qld bring their dogs on the job. I think it is stupid as well as rude but it is fairly standard practice. This isn't a dog friendly house [unfenced; cats & chickens] & my dad had cattle he didn't appreciate being chased by someone else's dogs.
