Ribh's D'Coopage

Rain. Enough of it to leave duck puddles on our pathways; Rivers of it flowing away.

Apart from a really short romp in the big run most of the girls have spent the day huddled under the coop in the sand pit. They are not happy. Everything is absolutely sodden. This does not matter in summer when it is warm & steamy but now it is cold it is just misery making. The herb garden is loving it!:love About the only thing. Even when I pop out between showers the girls don't come to greet me with loud squeaks & squwarks, but eye me mournfully as if the weather were my fault. I keep telling them @ least they're nice & dry. They are not impressed.

Gardening ~ or chooks? :)
Both gardening *and* chooks!
I had the big girls out free ranging in the garden while I spread bales of lucerne around their (now leveled) run, then spread barrow loads of mulch and lucerne around my garden beds that they dug up
I had some leftover cooked rice and a bit of unsweetened greek yogurt to lure them back into their run. Tsuki, the Leghorn, kept taking a beakful of yogurt and rushing over to the dividing fence to peck and thrust her chest out at my babies as if to say "MY yogurt! Keep away!" It looks like we won't be trying integration any time soon :hit
