Ribh's D'Coopage

Wow! Oops... missing notifications again, and boy did I have some catching up reading to do!

@rjohns39 I hope your pup is well on the road to recovery! It’s so hard when you get sudden bad injuries with working dogs, and it’s often harder on them not “working” than it is for us. We went through something similar last year with one of our border collies, we had a Japanese ER nursing student WWOOFer here when it happened, or we probably would have lost her.
Yay Eggs!!! I’m so jealous...
Congrats on your new adoptive addition! And welcome, Kayla :frow@HuffleClaw , it’s so nice to meet you here... I really enjoy being able to share my love for chickens with like minded folks!

@Butterscotchbitesfinger I’m so glad you’ve gotten such beautiful birds, and wish you much joy with them. How did the coop and run repairs and improvements work out? Did you and your Dad get everything all fixed up good and tight?

@Ribh, I hear you on the chicken bones! Glad you were able to get your Kirby in on time and he made it through that ok! I’m readjusting to my feline companions being back in my space... starting with a rubbish bin with a lid that will be arriving with Andrew tonight. Yes, there was something in there that I’m sure smelled very yummy... but did we have to spread all the trash out looking for it last night at 2 am? Of course we did!:th

Glad to see everyone’s chookies are loooking so well, and feathered, and so very spoilt. ;) I will try to keep up better! And here I was thinking everyone was being awfully quiet of late, but didn’t clue in to the “notifications are spotty, I really need to remember to check in manually”:he

Some days I wonder about me. I really do. Early boat. Absolutely freezing out. And I start feeling sorry for the girls who were confined to their pen until we got home & who were nearly as cold & miserable as I felt given it was overcast & no sun @ all was hitting the coop....soooo....I grabbed 1/2 a cup of corn to scatter round & keep them warm & naturally 2 shot out the gate & I had left the side of the outside run down for ease of access so they had the whole yard to shoot round in! Nothing like trying to round up chickens when you're running for a boat & running out of time & you're in your best gear to boot. Bad girls! Soda & Pebbles. I was organised. DH was not. We got to the jetty & he discovered he had left his Bunnings list behind! He might have broken the speed limit getting back home & back to the jetty in time. :( We finally get on the boat out of the bitter wind & I check my phone to organise a meeting place with YD to find she's picked up extra work & there I am with all her gear & no way of getting it to her! :barnieSo we go back & forth for the duration of the boat trip with a dodgy wireless signal & decide she can do a hit & run on her way to a meeting ~ she never even got out of the car.:gigI threw her bag of stuff in one door & she shot off but apparently the rug is a hit. She loves the colours & it is lovely & warm so worth the effort. Awful to put in the time & effort for homemade things & people hate them. :( We caught up with our youngest lad & had morning tea with him @ his so he & DH could nut out some things to do with the bathroom. He's going to pick up his twin on Saturday & we are likely to have a lot of coming & going from that point on. Lovely ~ but messy & fraught & exhausting. Had to hit 2 different Bunnings stores to get the tools DH was after; used be be a stonemason as well as a brickie so fussy & particular but got some cheap lettuce for the girls :yesss:~ DH spotted them. He's so funny about them as he never really wanted them but now it's him who detours to check the shop for their boxes of scraps & goes out of his way to find cheap green pickings for their treats. lol As soon as it hits double figures I will head out to say good morning. I know everyone's up. I stand @ my end window & all these heads pop up & they start calling.
