So while the lads did this...

I had a really good look @ Namaste. There are pin feathers... but this is going to be a long slow process I'm afraid. She has been molting for months. I really thought we were done & she was on her way back to excellent health but we are still dealing with the molt it seems.

I don’t know if all the colors will come through, but it was a gorgeous night here for Haying. There was a full moon and early evening the sky was beautiful shades of lavender. My phone was in my truck so I missed a good moon shot shortly after I took this one.

Sure enough the pic doesn’t do it justice... it was a long night, but a good one!

That is still beautiful!:loveI love those colours! And there's something about standing under a sky like that after a day's hard outside work. The world just feels so right somehow. :)

And a hawk! *sigh* I love them! So long as they stay away from my chickens.!

I actually love traveling now, even if it’s not for pleasure... thanks to Brother-in-law we had to make several overnight town trips, or for things like picking up farm equipment. Hotels are glorious places with running water, comfy beds, and properly flushing toilets, not to mention WiFi. I can now settle in and relax at a hotel more naturally than anywhere else.

Before we got so heavily into the chickens Andrew went to a convention in the city. I tagged along just for the hotel! I didn’t leave the room except to go to the complimentary breakfast, the hot tub, and dinner (even then I didn’t have to leave the hotel!) we did do the full tourist thing when we went to Seattle for a talk by Temple Grandin. Absolutely amazing... if you ever have the chance to see her speak in person, Take it! And her books are excellent.

Yep, 4 Ravens, one Hawk, and 3 Turkey Vultures... they love a freshly Tedded or mowed field. So many little snacks for them! Speaking of Predators, we finished up about 10:30pm here last night, lighting the barn with the Trucks headlights to unload the trucks that didn’t belong to us so they could drive home. It was nearly midnight before we got up to the trailer, and it turns out the 2 Raccoons from the Saturday night and the 4 from Friday night are unrelated. Last night there were 6 altogether.

The only reason I know about her is because I saw the movie about her where Claire Danes portrayed her.. it was so good and I find her fascinating!!
