Ribh's D'Coopage

Good Morning Jeannie :frow

All settled in. Managed to hatch enough for the first order, shipped 71 to tx. Got to spend a long evening with DD and the grands, it was wonderful.
Glad you got to see the family. It gets harder once the kids get big with their own families.

There was a fox in my yard this morning. Might've been two.

I woke up to the girls making a racket, which is out of character because usually they'd be chirping quietly, not raising the roof. I thought someone had laid an egg, so I went out, let them out of their fox proof coop (!!!!!!) and gave them breakfast. I was compelled to stay with them for a while, trying to work out what had set them off (was Mary ready to lay again? Was Janet pretending to be a rooster again? Lots of questions, no answers).

Then Janet stood up really tall and stalked over to the fence, she was looking at something and thinking of fighting. I looked over, a fox.

I shooed it away and put the chooks back in their coop. Then I went to see if it was still lurking about. Two of them were sitting at the end of my street. I set off in their direction and they ran away, out of sight.

The chooks are still in their coop. Safe.

MaryJanet, I lost more than 100 birds to a crafty fox. Keep tight vigilance.

Jeannie, DW got these red sky pics tonight. What do you think?
