We are in the middle of winter, shortest day just done, but 9 eggs one day ~ which means just about everybody is laying. Not my molters [both Australorps] & not Lavender I don't think. Hard to tell. I have mostly brown layers of various shades I think ~ everything from pale buff to a fairly dark brown ~ apart from the Campines who are a law unto themselves & lay white eggs. Pretty sure Lottie has been laying for a while. Wasn't sure if the small eggs were hers or Pebbles but I know Pebbles eggs & they are quite a bit larger. That is good news just now as I have been feeding the lads & 3 eggs per lad @ one sitting is nothing ~ to say nothing of the dessert making I have been doing. Boy! Can my lads eat!!!

The good news is Namaste is quite a bit perkier. Not so good news, her sister isn't her usual bossy self. :( *sigh* She is missing feathers & looking patchy now & I really, really hope we are not going to have a repeat of Namaste. It is heartbreaking to see my cheeky girls so down in the dumps & under the weather. Especially as my rocks shed like a feather pillow for a couple of weeks but never stopped laying. Slowed somewhat but kept chugging the eggs out & bossy~booting everyone else as well.

Well, this is what I’ve been up to..pressure washed the house... painting the house.. got gutters put on.. cutting tons of branches off of all the trees... hauling all the branches to the back then have to cut them up so I can burn them! I must be nuts to be burning these giant fires in this heat but I love it! And I like the heat .. that pile of branches in back was triple that but I’m going through it pretty quickly.. but we still have more to cut...
