Ribh's D'Coopage

This is the exact therapy I used. 2 whole days of free range and just hanging out with them has been just what I and they needed. I know I am doing better and roosting went quite smoothly tonight.
:thumbsup
Yesterday wasn't nice for sitting outside ~ being our winter & waaay too cold~ but this morning was lovely & I think the girls treat me like their rooster. I'm the protector, tid~bitter, round 'em up & sort 'em out one so having me round returns everything to normal. They aren't cuddly chooks but they like to hang with me. :)

Mine aren't cuddly either, byt I wish they were because I'd love a chicken cuddle!

So, I pretty much spent the whole day at my desk except for a trip to Bunnings for ply and hinges. Bunnings is a big hardware store chain in Australia. The ply and hinges are going to be a door on the woodshed to keep the chooks out. Unfortunately we couldn't fit the ply into the car, so it's being delivered tomorrow morning.

I've still got two papers to finalise this evening, but for now I'm in the coop with the chooks as they settle down for the night. Lots of soft bok bok noises, sips of water, last bites of food. Mary is v clumsy as she finds her spot, lots of incidental flapping. Sandy and Janet are nimble. Janet is pushy and pecky, getting the other two organised. If she doesn't settle down soon, she's going in the little coop til later.

Anyway, I promised a few sunset snaps while on leave, so here's today's :)

Oh! Yes! Glorious!

I love my lots roosting sounds ~ sort of like purring trills. So sweet.
We practically live @ Bunnings just now. Everything we need seems to be there. *sigh* And the boy tore the bathroom apart & the weather improved so he is out fishing & we are top & tailing in a basin of water.

Chicken hugs are the best! This is Claire and she will hop up on the arm of the chair next to my stool and get really close to my face and stretch her neck out for a hug :love.. she actually rests her head and stays till I stop hugging :)... I think I’m her only friend :lol:View attachment 1830921

Yesterday was difficult & we were all out of sorts. Today I made an effort to spend time just sitting in the run with my girls, hard as that was because Nugget should have been there & I keep getting confused with my head count because 12 is what I am looking for, not the 11 I now have.

Everyone came over to spend time with me even though I had no tid~bits.

Namaste stood right beside my chair the entire time. Pebbles, who is Australorp through & through & not overly friendly hung around.

A bunch of them collected @ the back of me ~ or under the chair but the surprise was Ha'penny..

My skittish, freak out screamer took to sunbathing @ my feet. I think we are now all feeling better. :)

Spending time with the chooks is so soothing.
It's my meditation.:)

I was gonna ask.. who counts their chickens..? I count mine by their groups.. morning and night..

And IT has start... I caught Vinny in the act.. with mama :sick... she wasn’t too pleased.. I’m gonna have to see how this goes.. cuz if it’s a bit much then I’m not too sure how much I can take
