Ribh's D'Coopage

Has anyone tried Legbars? From what I've read, they seem like a very good chicken.
They have some good genes:Barred rock [love my rocks], Araucana, Leghorns & Campines [:love]. If they breed true they should be pretty & friendly but I've never kept them.

Isn’t it nice.. I think they just start to warm up to you as you spend time sitting with them.. some of mine that I wasn’t able to handle as babies are becoming the most friendly so I’m hoping my new flowers come around... they are still a bit shy.. they like to come near but I dare not touch! Here they are getting big..View attachment 1845993View attachment 1845994View attachment 1845995

Thank you... they are becoming so pretty.. I really think Magnolia (middle pic) is so cool looking with that black head.. she looks so hawk like!

When I scrolled down to Magnolia's picture I did a double take. She looks so much like a bird of prey! :D:love

Yes, things are definitely settling down... finally!! And bedtime is becoming more peaceful... for a while I was having to bring these three onto the roosts at night but I think they have figured it out and are doing it on their own :celebrate.. I still go out to check and the last few nights everybody has seemed to find themselves a spot.. :ya

About how long did it take for them to roost peacefully together WhoDat?

I integrated 3 different age groups from April - June... never again! And things are slowly starting to make sense.. but it is still a work in progress :he... last night I found one (Goosie:rolleyes: 1st group) sleeping in the sand under the 3 flowers :barnie... I have actually made the flowers (3 EEs and youngest ones) their own roosting area where the old roost used to be.. near the old nesting boxes.. that was the only way to get them into the coop.. they are deathly afraid of some of the big ones... and sometimes one of the Cochins (2nd group) is trying to “hide” in there as well.. I’m hoping as the flowers grow up they’ll move to the other roosts :fl.. but if they don’t it’s no big deal... but as for Lilly and Mak (1st group) and Gardenia and Petunia and sometimes Camellia (2nd group.. they have flower names as well but they are the Cochin bantams) they are all mixed in with the big gals and even have better roosting spots than them... so we are getting there but I think it was extra hard because of so many different ages...

The girls have a beautiful morning again!
Not warm but we have sunlight & no wind & they had a lot to say to me when I went out to say Good Morning.

On other fronts:
We have a working shower again. The lad will be back today to finish laying the tiles. I have :fl that he will actually hook up my washing machine again. That would be good!

Amongst other things on our Tuesday trip to the mainland I bought my very first Tunisian crochet hook ~ which looks more like a lone knitting needle than anything else. I have NO idea how one wields this thing:hmm but You Tube, Here I come!

The wool I ordered a month ago arrived while we were out ~ but I don't have enough. *sigh* Math & I...!!! :( I calculated on the last lot of wool I used in the gauge & needle size but something is wrong. I think this wool is actually thicker as I noticed my wrist was starting to ache so I will ring the store & if they don't have any I will have to order online again & wait simply ages before I can finish this off. I would like to get it to YD's friend before winter actually ends.:rant

And because our postal system is so very reliable I picked up another lot of variegated wool. I love variegated wool!:love This will be for my mother, who has just turned 86 & is currently in Greece or Turkey & gallivanting my inheritance away.:lau

I was wondering how the bathroom was coming along! What are your tiles like? Big or small, coloured or neutral? Hope you don't have to live too long without a washing machine.

Love the crochet! The rugs look amazing! It doesn't look like the usual crochet stitch - is it a special stitch or do I need to fetch my specs again?

Great to see the chooks in the sunshine, beautiful girls.

Hey there. How's it going?

Beautiful girls and knitting. I always wanted to knit, but never learned how. I do enjoy counted cross stitch.

Things are happening here. We are in the middle of a heat wave. The chooks are feasting on frozen blueberries and frozen corn for snacks. My cockerel Breeze is starting with his crow.

My broody silkie is still on 18 eggs. They should start hatching soon.
