If I don't separate the chooks at mealworm time Janet pretty much inhales 90% of them while Mary says "deeewishus!" after every bite, and Sandy goes hard but drops them out of her kakky beak. So they realise now: separated = mealworms and their anticipation goes through the roof!

Oh! Can't you video that? Such fun!

Troubles is, they're separated by some distance so it'd be one at a time, while holding the phone and opening the mealworms containers. But if there's ever a spare pair of hands, I'll give it a go

Thanks for your thoughts. The video made me smile oh, how they love their meal worms...

Last night I was able to pull up BYC on my phone. I had Rich read all the birthday wishes. He was deeply touched.

My daughter has one of the kindest hearts I have seen in a child and all this talk about birthdays made her want to create one for our dog. So Anna decided that yesterday was Dixie's birthday and she made her a special dinner for it.

Well my wait wasn't long... My uncle passed this morning. on one hand I'm happy he's no longer suffering on the other I'm so going to miss him.

If they laid bigger eggs I'd have all bantams; bantams & Campines...They are such lovely, lovely girls!

I wasn't home much today so I didn't get to observe my hens properly. There was no blood at all in Pepper's poop this morning and it was quite dry and firm.

By the time I got back this evening Pepper had gone back to the coop, but she was sitting on the floor, not the perch, so I'm still feeling concerned about her.

I should have time to visit the saddlery tomorrow...
