Ribh's D'Coopage

Deana, my hen who seemed to be egg bound a while ago, is still laying enormous eggs. Although they are no longer wrinkly they are often very thin shelled. I could actually see through the shell of one a couple of days ago, like holding paper up to the light.

So I have been giving her Greek yogurt to which I've added liquid calcium a couple of times a week and this morning she went to the nesting box afterwards.

I went to check on her and she was standing up and laid an egg as I watched! I've never seen an egg actually being laid before! So cool.

Here she is less than a minute afterwards :D

Sorry I didn't get a video. :( I was taken by surprise :hmm

Beautiful Ribh. That's a very pretty stitch. How do the edges stay so straight?
The edges are actually crocheted on a chain when you turn. It's not difficult once you understand what to do & it's plain old double crochet all the way through but because it is set @ an angle it doesn't look much like double crochet. :) I thought it would look nice in the variegated wool...

Thank you! He's what I can a "with-me" cat. He always wants to be right where you are. Rich was working on laundry today and he kept getting in the drawers while Rich was putting the clothes away.

Those are the best ones. I love a cat that wants to hang out. You are going to have so much fun.!

I'm not surprised that they get cranky. When Tsuki went through her moult in April this year she must have lost 1/4 of her feathers. The new ones pushing through the skin looked really painful, Like the worst case of acne for a human ....ouch

Here they are after they've broken through the skin

Patsy used to molt like this time of the year. Just when it started getting pretty cold. I always felt awful for her. This is from last year.
