With this photo and the last Shad, I really had to zoom in before I could see the chicks. Do you find that they are well camouflaged when they are free ranging?

Tbh I take pictures to help me keep records more than anything else so I don't really have posting them on BYC in mind. It's only when I get them on the PC I realise I may have a decent picture.
I don't think they are that well camouflaged, It's just we humans are so used to crashing about our environment that we have lost a considerable amount in powers of observation. There is so little that is dangerous in modern society that the fear that drives caution isn't there.
What the chickens here are good at is hiding.

Yesterday I spent my morning popping Suyin & Ha'penny back over the fence. This morning no~one is interested in fence hopping. All is quiet on the chicken front ~ yet this morning is almost a replica of yesterday: hot; still; high humidity. The girls have all returned to the coop & are in the shady, cool sand pit. And they have a glorious view this morning! The water is glassy. Not a breath of breeze anywhere. Looking like it's going to be a hot one.

Yall, I am NOT happy with the new site set up... I try not to complain often but the way you have to work with the emojis makes it no fun at all... I love to use emojis but won’t anymore as it is a giant PITA!!!!! The other way was just so much better and easier to use.. also, posting pics is awful as well... I don’t understand why they actually made it more complicated!!?

I find it easier to resize a picture on the computer and then post it using Attach Files in the bottom left hand corner.

Rooster problems today.
Cillin and Treacle have been fighting this afternoon. The good news is they're now roosting together. In the past one has been driven out of the coop. I've had to get in between them a few times this afternoon to break the fighting up. I'm just about to get them off their perches to inspect for damage.
