The problem is me basically. Ideally, Treacle should move out. He could I think attract two hens to follow him. Cillin would be fine with this I think. I can't afford to build a coop atm.
I have had fathers and sons live together and come to a working arrangement. Punch and Mag in Tribe 2 is a current example.
It's been quite warm for late Jan and Feb here and I think the chickens, and quite a few plants think it's spring. The hens wake up in the morning and toss a coin for who goes broody next.
Also, Cillin is pretty hard on Treacle in some ways.
A further problem is the hens like them both.
It's chicken life. Not a lot I can do.

I guess more hens isn't a solution if housing is a problem? No old bricks & timber lying round for a new structure?

I know of a research study examining the previous federal election (the one Morrison's team won) for fake news.

The hypothesis was that some external and competitive nation would launch a fake news campaign to disrupt Australia's democracy. The researcher fully anticipated interference from China. He himself voted for Morrison's party.

One fake news campaign was identified and trcaed back to its origin. The origin was the office of the federal treasurer. The fake news was from within Morrison's team. His own team was disrupting Australia's democracy to gain political advantage.

I daresay next election they'll all be doing it.

I disengage from the media. For me it's not whether news is fake or not. When so much emotive language is used in an effort to sway public opinion I become very cynical. To say nothing of language being misused in an effort to publicly flay those who disagree. So far as I'm concerned the media is an absolute disgrace & needs a thorough overhaul! Their job should be to present the facts & let people make up their own minds, not tell people how & what they should think. Sorry, MJ, not ranting @ you ~ just generally. And not put out misleading information all round. It makes me wild. Can you tell?

The best parts of the media are the international fact checking services. The Conversation does some fact checking in the UK, US and Australia. It only uses accredited expertise to do so and the experts' interpretations are then reviewed by another expert who writes a short report to condone or argue. I have found these specific fact checks to be rational, thorough, and calm.

We're all different. I prefer to do my own fact checking ~ but then I used to work as a research librarian... I rarely have trouble turning up obscure information. I also have a very different world view from most people I know & that always affects how one understands & interprets the information one receives.

I'm pretty good with finding reference data too (because I have access to expensive databases) and I'm pretty good at both quantitative and qualitative analysis, having conducted both over the years.

But the folks writing for the conversation put me in the shade. I'm almost always impressed by the scope of their thinking and the impartiality of their analyses.

From what I've seen [which isn't much because I rarely watch t.v so I may not have enough data for an accurate assessment] I haven't been overly impressed ~ though it depends on the topic. Some things seem beautifully impartial, others I detect bias, which always makes my hackles rise. Maybe I'm just getting old & grumpy
