SILVER CAMPINES:
Morrigu.
She's a mature laying hen.
My usual supplier told me she'd stopped breeding silvers because it's difficult to get the nice clean definitions. Morrigu is definitely not show bird quality! :) There should be none of that speckling on her head.

I was wondering for a couple of days who [or what ]she was reminding me of; it's a peacock's cry. Not quite so loud or raucous but definitely along those lines.

Campines tend to be on the timid side ~ as a generalisation. This is mostly true from my observation but Morrigu has suddenly found herself senior hen amongst pullets & has been displaying her bullying tendencies ~ mostly @ the junior Campines. No~one bullies a Wyandotte. If all else fails they run! The Araucanas are of a similar size & Beatha is laying so Beatha is 2nd & Mhari is mostly left alone with only the occasional peck.

It could be a lot worse.

Lastly, Medh & Aoife [I can't remember which way I spelled their names last time but it's the same.]
Medh is the slightly older hen [more comb showing] & she has more black feathers & speckling up her chest & shoulders.

Aoife is youngest & definitely bottom chook in this lot. She's got the cleanest feathering of the lot & is more how the silvers are suppossed to look, a nice clean white head & shoulders, darker rump & feathers. She's still really young ~ & acts it. She's very easily intimidated & I am going to have to watch these two as they've been hiding out in the coop to avoid Morrigu. 2nd feeder went into the coop so they could eat in peace.

The Campines are lovely looking. You can see the Fayoumi in them, especially the in the silver and black. I don't know how much of the forage and fly the Campines have inherited but I can see them being a problem to contain in your run as it is currently.
You're quite right. I don't know much about the Fayoumi but The Campines are good flyers & love to forage. The run wouldn't contain either of the 2 I started with & those were confined to the coop for weeks after the other girls were allowed out. I just didn't trust them & their flightiness is problematic. They & I have to come to an agreement before they will be allowed the run though the man has worked out how to put it together to extend the space while containing my birds. As soon as we get some cooler weather I will start agitating.

Good strategy. Have to keep watch on everybody. I have to say they really are pretty birds. I don't know what I expected but they are very pretty
