SILVER CAMPINES:
Morrigu.
She's a mature laying hen.
My usual supplier told me she'd stopped breeding silvers because it's difficult to get the nice clean definitions. Morrigu is definitely not show bird quality!
There should be none of that speckling on her head.
I was wondering for a couple of days who [or what ]she was reminding me of; it's a peacock's cry. Not quite so loud or raucous but definitely along those lines.
Campines tend to be on the timid side ~ as a generalisation. This is mostly true from my observation but Morrigu has suddenly found herself senior hen amongst pullets & has been displaying her bullying tendencies ~ mostly @ the junior Campines. No~one bullies a Wyandotte. If all else fails they run! The Araucanas are of a similar size & Beatha is laying so Beatha is 2nd & Mhari is mostly left alone with only the occasional peck.
It could be a lot worse.
