Is it just the moult? It’s not something else as well?

Pretty sure it's just the molt. She's been wormed & treated for lice. Not laying. She lost a lot of feathers & has heaps of pin feathers coming through so I'm hoping this will be a quick one.

I've caught Lilly hogging a nesting box a couple times the last 2 weeks. No egg. Just sitting there for an hour or so on other people's eggs. Luckily she doesn't break any. I'm not sure why she does it and some times it causes a traffic jam.

Doing muddled escort duty? Soda used to share boxes with anyone who was laying & she'd be there for ages after the other girl came out. Come to think of it, she still likes to share...

Estapol. Satin; glass finish. I think it's supposed to be extra hard. The chickens are already in. I had to lock the cats in the bathroom last night to make sure they didn't walk on it till it had dried.

That's beautiful Jeannie. Is it new or refurbished? We got lucky once... Took up the carpet on one of our old houses and found a terribly abused, but beautiful hardwood floor underneath. It took a lot of sanding, vacuuming and moping before it was ready to finish but turned out beautiful. Not as nice as yours though.

I don't have beautiful hardwood floors. I do have some very smart hens though! One laid an egg in my hand about 30 minutes ago, and knew I wanted it, so she pushed it out with her beak, as if to say "Here, I'm done. You can have it now!" So cute I could almost cry!
