Poor babies. Hugs for both of you.There are days I when I hate what I have to do here to manage the chickens in a manner I would prefer not to. I had to confiscate Tackle's eggs today. I felt awful. I had promised her she could sit when she tried last year.
My friend with the Fayoumies lets them sit and hatch when they want. I would dearly love to be in that position.

Aoife's been getting in the lettuce scrap box where I can't see her & making a pig of herself.
I hung a couple of elks & the whole flaming lot stood under my feet & told me I was doing it all wrong, they'd look better somewhere else, they were no good to eat, what did I want to do that for & where were the mealy worms?

Meanwhile I ran out of my regular feed because we didn't do a mainland trip this week so I went down to our little nursery, who do carry some things ~ emergency supplies in my book. I asked what they had as feed: Pellets, Mash & something that looks like scratch but no crumble & low in protein. Not the best quality feed but it's only for a few days till we head overseas & can pick up our regular stuff so I figured no~one was going to die from a few days of mash ~ which had the highest protein but this woman suggested mealworms as regular feed! I about died on the spot. I do hope she's not telling other people that! The girls were thrilled & busily set about picking out all their favourite bits ~ which is why this is never a regular feed for my birds!
The lower wall frame is up too & we have the roof struts to hand so my escapees days are numbered!
