As if things weren't chaotic enough around here Mhari has chosen now to go broody.
I take the eggs & she just waits till someone else lays & goes sit on them.
I am throwing her out when I open the run but I really don't have time t deal with her just now so she is being left to gaze vacantly into space.

I need to borrow your dog for my brother's 13 year old boy. That's right, he's 13 and shrieks!When my husband's nephew was about two or three he was the same. Very shrieky and noisy.
Well one day my German Shepherd dog had enough. Have you ever seen what a mama dog does to her puppies when they get too noisy or push her too far? The mama will put her mouth over the puppy's muzzle and hold them for a moment and the puppy quiets down.
My girl had never had puppies but she knew what to do to get some peace! She put her mouth over his face. It worked!He had a little scrape on his nose from one of her teeth going past but not another mark on him.
Bob, I am waaay behind everywhere. The 3 yr old keeps losing the plot over nothing & my tolerance for mouthy 3yr olds is zero. I am biting my tongue a lot & just walking away. Reasonable beings 3 yr olds are not.
It will all settle shortly & life will be easier all round. The kids will cope better & I can deal with Mhari & catch up on my chookie reading.

You can't let them set when it's winter. It's just not smart. Sydney set the littles on their own at 4 weeks. They are not fully feathered. Not a problem in 100° weather, but in the winter! No way.She's looking determined too!It's not even easy to get hands on fertile eggs just now so there's no way she can sit.
There is that too ~ though our lows are nowhere near yours.
