Ribh's D'Coopage

Tribe 2 at supper time.
It's Hinge at the back who has been moulting. The odd looking patch on her front is the result of a hawk attack where a flap of skin got peeled back. Finally there are some feathers starting to grow there. It's been bald until now. Hinge has survived two hawk attacks so far.

I was never a dog person! I've always been a cat person, however this dog is slowly winning me over.
I'm not a dog person either but I will always enjoy my friends' well behaved dogs. I just don't want to own one. ;)

I like some dogs. I'm not like many I read on BYC who are dog mad. I wouldn't keep a dog in the house for example, or let it sleep on my bed.:sick
There used to be a proper dog here and he and I got on very well. The two remaining are sofa dogs basicaly and while I'll feed them and take them to the vet and even pet them from time to time:p that's as far as it goes.
In my world dogs work for their keep and need proper training.

I have never seen them selling chicks this late in the year at TSC but they sure are. The demand for chickens must still be very high. The lack of straw and feed sure points increased flocks as well.
Yes, all the breeders I know have been short stocked because the demand has been so high. It worries me. Yet my Golden Campine breeder has taken a break. I will contact her shortly to see if she is breeding this season so I can get more Goldens.

I would still like to have Fayoumies here.....don't tell the tribes...
The project I posted about before Christmas has obviously gone to shite with the Covid crisis.
My plans to have a game fowl pair have also gone the same route with the Brexit problems and the general situation here.
When Fat Bird dies that will be the last of the 'pure breed' chickens here.
I've had quite a few enquiries from people wanting chickens due to the Covid crisis. No way am I going to let any go under such circumstances.
If Fayoumies are anything like their relatives [Campines] I know you will really enjoy them. There's a wildness about them that makes them so much more interesting than their more domesticated sisters. :D I know. I know. I'm a little Campine obsessed but I do love my Campines. :)

They are gorgeous birds. I love their look.
They really stand out personality wise too. They're not unfriendly. I could even say they are fairly placid but they are certainly high strung & intelligent. They'd be wonderful in a large free range environment. Sadly I can't give them that but they do pretty well here just the same. I don't think they would do @ all well in a small, boring, confined space.
