I'm really hoping for tadpoles...

We had the kiddie wading pool out for months for our Golden Retriever to paddle in and the frogs laid eggs in it.

When hubby emptied it out recently, there were still a few tadpoles in it. The chooks made short work of them!

I sympathize Ribh.

I have so many materials and 1/2 done projects from a myriad of hobbies lying about and stuffed in boxes and cupboards around the house that the family gets apprehensive when I start getting interested in something new.

At least you finish off your crochet projects.

All mine come in on occasion. In Alpia's case it gave her something to think about besides eggs.

You say that you don't want lap chickens Ribh, but the number of times I have seen a photo of a chicken in your lap...

This is the 1st enduction hive.
It's having a slight ant attack but the bees are starting to build a new hive.

What is an "enduction hive" please Ribh ? I couldn't find it on Google.

I finished this off this morning while I was chatting with you lot. I've not tried this pattern before; it's a bit long & narrow but I'll know if I ever decide to use it again.
It should work as a child's afghan...

What is an "enduction hive" please Ribh ? I couldn't find it on Google.

I've probably spelt it wrong.​

You join a full hive to an empty hive via a short pipe. There is only 1 entrance to both hives & this encourages the mature hive to expand into the empty hive.

You say that you don't want lap chickens Ribh, but the number of times I have seen a photo of a chicken in your lap...

I usually only get to snap pics of me holding chickens when they have been grabbed for another reason. Not one of them usually jumps in my lap though there have been exceptions.​

Yep. Lots of *wunna these days* projects around here. I'm prepared to try most things @ least once but if I don't enjoy it it languishes .

We want the frogs ~ ecologically speaking. Cane toads.

That's lovely Ribh! Very bold and kind of old fashioned looking. It reminds me of the things my Nana used to knit.

They are old fashioned colours. Last yarn buy there was a sale so limited choices, not enough balls of anything & no new supplies coming in. I hadn't gone all the way through the pattern unfortunately, so wasn't sure how much yarn I really needed but it still works as a child's afghan.
