They are lovely lookers. Here are my two biggest bullies, neither can hold a candle to Aurora or Tsuki... the white one my “Bully girl” (yes, that’s her name) thinks I am her rooster, but will occasionally let Sammy step in for rooster duties the big food bringer can’t perform. The Black girl is a pecker, and will knock little off at roosting time.View attachment 2442310View attachment 2442311
Bully girl was literally pecking my hand and trying to tear chunks off. “Treats! This is the hand that gives treats... where are they? I will bite it until I get something tasty!”
But will they be as photogenic? The epitome of elegance ~ but I think I may have some contenders shortly!![]()
Wow that second shot is fantastic!I also have a forest chicken in training... one of the red rock pullets that are just starting to layView attachment 2442349
And some foreshadowing of how I’m going to start catching up on my chicken tax over at Fluffy Butt Acres:View attachment 2442336
Now I’m off to unload the truck with DH from our Monday grocery haul...
Yeh! So many gorgeous chickens!Wow that second shot is fantastic!
They just know how good they have it...they don't have to climb the steep ladder...just wait for the elevator and all is good and right in the world...Seeing as all 4 of the bigger girls spent the afternoon racing in & out of the coop I did think @ least some of my new girls might put themselves to bed in the right place tonight...

Perish the thought!

Everyone huddled @ the end of their run as per usual & had to be carried one by one into the coop.

If you want elegant........When I got my chickens this go around...I wasn't very excited about it as I felt we were going backwards instead of moving ahead...they were a food source...not for meat(unless the economy tanked) but eggs, I was also looking for friendly & hardy breeds. They have become so much more to me than I had ever imagined! I hope to get a few more hens in the Spring & I already have a name that I hope will fit one of them...she will have to be an elegant hen for it to work! I'm still trying to decide what I will be getting!
