Edwina is not going to let a vicious broody keep her from laying an egg in her favourite spot!

Ribh, I think this shot needs to be in the caption contest!Speaking of broodies...
The egg is Morrigu's.
Morrigu is sitting on her egg.
Soda is sitting on Morrigu because Morrigu has the egg.
It was a very tight squish in there!

HmmmIt has to be a control thing of some kind. She is exercising control over the flock. Maybe she has lost control over something else and is making herself feel better by exerting control in this fashion. What do you think?
I think she is second from the bottom with Edwina at the bottom. They usually hang out together when they are free ranging. I have been making sure she gets some food and water and she will also go for a short dust bath before she rushes back to the nesting box.Is she at the bottom of the pecking order? Everybody in the flock demonstrated their displeasure with Sydney when she was broody by pecking at her. This is one of the reasons that I made certain I was there everyday when she got off the nest. I made certain that she was able to eat, drink, and dustbathe without the others chasing her. And I did need to step in and shoo the others away from her many times. Sansa and Lilly were both very unhappy with her for hatching.
