Ditto. I removed my eldest girl from the school for a fortnight before the holidays over bullying, which gave the school a month to sort the issue out or I was removing her permanently. She got them a lot of funding through sport so the issue was sorted.
My youngest was harder. We were using the state Distance programme & her supervisor was someone who should not have been teaching. Unfortunately there was a huge issue with the Brisbane State schools @ the time & so many parents suddenly pulled their children the Distance programme was overwhelmed & overcrowded. We were forced to pull her & went with a private programme who were always absolutely wonderful!! She ended up having the same supervisor for the rest of her schooling, someone we both liked & got on excellently with & worked with us, rather than against us, as we worked out the quirkier kinks in my daughter's learning style.
The so called experts are not always the best choice. I make no bones about being ghastly @ math ~ but I taught my child without understanding most of what I was teaching & it worked because I had already taught her how to teach herself so none of her choices were cast in iron. She has just completed the Armed Forces IQ exam ~ which is mostly higher math: I went & looked

& passed high enough above average that she could train as a pilot if she wanted. And this is the child who refused to do any higher math throughout high school & a mother who didn't see why she should have to. Teach a child how to learn before all else & they can learn whatever they need when they need it. Don't do that & they will remain stupid regardless of how many letters they have after their name.
And that is my biggest beef with our education department. They somehow equate shoving information in with actual learning.

Don't shoot me. I worked as a remedial teacher for over a decade & I've seen all kinds of stupid. Made stupid is the worst.
