Aoife's spur was hanging by a mere thread & came off quickly & easily. There seemed to be a lot of dried blood so not much bleeding & I swabbed it until the cloth was coming away clean . I could only get a pine Tar gel but applied lots before putting a Bandaid on. The wound looked fairly jagged rather than a clean tear so I hope I've done everything right.

That looks pretty neat to me Ribh. It would have been a relief to her not to have it dangling anymore. That took some courage to get it off. Well done.

To Aoife, ow,ow,ow,ow,ow. That must have been painful (not the procedure, the initial injury)

Overall it doesn't look too bad. Keep an eye on it for redness. Otherwise you are probably good to go.

How does something like that happen? I mean tearing off a spur? Would it have got caught in something?

Nope. No help. Aoife was incredible! I did wrap her in a towel but she barely struggled @ all. The cleaning was hardest. I expect it hurt.
