Please don't read Shakespear to your chickens. Life is hard enough without having to endure that!Oh I loved the Ancient Mariner. We studied it at school I think. I used to remember great chunks of it. The only thing that comes to mind now is the imagery of the becalmed ship something about a painted ship upon a painted ocean.
Then I fell in love with Under Milk Wood.
As a teenager I loved a number of Paul Dehn’s anti nuclear war poems.
And for a giggle there is always Ogden Nash.
I am a big Shakespeare fan but weirdly have never read the sonnets.
So, as you can tell, I could very easily spend my afternoons sitting with the chickens reading poetry to them!
Get a lot of that on some threads. She is training you well!
I think I know 11 of them, but I would have to check to be sure.
These are great words Lozzy. Perfect for playing "Balderdash".![]()
I forgot The Tubes track. What were they thinking...Terrible film, amazing soundtrack. Olivia Newton John, ELO, and the Tubes. Fantastic music. It still perks me up when I play it.![]()
I dunno. With all the intrigue and who is top Princess carrying on, I think they would enjoy Richard III.Please don't read Shakespear to your chickens. Life is hard enough without having to endure that!
I think if the word had been scrumping I would have got it but with scrump I somehow didn’t make the connection. Here in the West Country scrumping is still a childhood activity. Lots of tales of scrumpers getting very sick from eating too many cider apples.
Maybe. I can be in Somerset in a few minutes from where I am.I think if the word had been scrumping I would have got it but with scrump I somehow didn’t make the connection.
Isn’t Bristol a bit of a stretch for the West Country?
That counts!Maybe. I can be in Somerset in a few minutes from where I am.
Of course Olivia is right up front! The first of the promised Christmas storms just rolled through.
The girls all huddled tightly against the back door where they could see me.

The 80s were the best!Yes, it is like they said, "What can we jam in here? Tightrope walking? Let's do it! Lady spinning suspended in air? Genius!".
It make no sense at all. Welcome to the 80s.
