There's a hawk with a home in the nearby swamp. He occasionally roosts nearby but thankfully doesn't seem terribly interested in the chickens.I agree there may have been an aerial predator scare.

That seems lucky to me. Do you know what type of hawk? There's a hawk with a home in the nearby swamp. He occasionally roosts nearby but thankfully doesn't seem terribly interested in the chickens.
I haven't been able to get a good enough look @ him to id him. He's brown & on the smallish side. Most of our hawks are scavengers, not hunters, but if it's a falcon or goshawk we're in trouble. That seems lucky to me. Do you know what type of hawk?
Even the little ones terrify me now I'm keeping hens.

Does your uni library site have an MLA referencing guide that you can download? I used AGLC for the law degree and Harvard for the music degree. When I was submitting assignments I had my reference guide open and looked for the example I needed, which was handy when referencing online stuff.I'm supposed to be using MLA ~ no idea...What I was taught 1st time round was footnoting. I did look it up but obviously have not understood something. Plus there's the whole internet referencing thing as well. No feedback on the citations except to say I did it wrong.
Probably not helped by changing states for uni. I've always found Qld & NSW quite different in their approach to education.
I am hoping I have interpreted this correctly (you can also write obliquely as well as grammatically correctly) but I think this means you passed everything.Well, my 1st lot of Writing results are back. Seeing that's my major I rather need to pass these courses. Apparently I can write a coherent & grammatically correct sentence. I would certainly hope so by this stage in life!!!I completely blew the citations ~ & am still not sure what I need to do. It was very different when I did my 1st degree. I need to clarify that. At least I citated the work.
Apparently I need to develop my ideas a little more but as I have not enjoyed this subject, AT ALL, I'm afraid boredom got the better of me. However a pass is a pass & not to be sneezed @ ~ & not a bad pass @ that, but it & the Archaeology passes have given me the confidence boost I needed. Now it is just a matter of settling in & doing the hard yards. Thank goodness for chickens & cats who don't care a fig about any of it!
I just looked up MLA - it appears to be simply a standard order in which you provide the various elements of a citation. First author, then title of source etc. Why that needs an acronym is beyond me. Probably I misunderstood.I'm supposed to be using MLA ~ no idea...What I was taught 1st time round was footnoting. I am doing a summary of Bob's thread for him to cover the last two weeks - he has been completely off line for two weeks and asked for a summary.I can't keep up either, Michelle. I've pretty much had to let Bob's thread go. I don't have time to read 20~30 pages a day on just one thread. MJ keeps hers @ a readable level & mine's a bit hit & miss depending on what we find to talk about.
Last post was on April 12 from Aussie-Chookmum.WEDNESDAY WHEREVER.
No chookies this morning. It's as dark as hades out there & the rain is dropping from the sky in bucketloads. The cats are disgusted & I can hear the girls complaining round the side of the house. The cats have taken to sleeping on my next 2 projects now the weather is cooling off.
Question???: Has anyone seen @Aussie-Chookmum recently?
