Oh, Lozzy, thank you! I too knew of Cala & was sad to learn of her passing.

I’m really happy with how the music turned out, it’s suitably heart-rending. I have a composition student who’s an awesome music producer, and he’s helping me mix it. I’m going to be mixing and drawing this weekend, so creative output will be high.

I’m glad someone else understands why you can be sad over a cat you never met.

I want to celebrate Caturday slightly differently today.​

​

There’s an Instagram kitty called Cala, a very vocal ginger cat who was taking the internet by storm, especially when a very talented creator wrote a song called “I Go Meow” and Cala was singing the chorus.​

​

This video made me so happy because it was so cute, and I would watch it often. Well, Cala died recently and I was shocked at how much that upset me. There was a massive outpouring of love for Cala and it’s been affecting me for days.​

​

I decided to harness this emotion and I composed a piece of music in memory of Cala. I’m doing a series of drawings to turn into a video to go with the music. Here’s the first drawing, in memory of Cala for Caturday.​

It can be interesting what connects with is and causes an emotional response. The feelings are real and we need to appreciate them in others and ourselves.
