We have full integration.
The new girls are still hanging together but they are mixing with the old girls too.
It has been a very smooth integration. Absolutely no fighting.
Nyx is laying & hers are the only eggs I'm getting just now.

Nope. Just put the new girls in @ night. They were fairly submissive, which probably helped, & Leonard is probably their grandfather. I only have 1 real standard now; Ha'penny. India is a silkie/Aracauna X. Everyone else is a bantam of various sorts. I don't know if that makes a difference. I've generally had smooth integrations & Ha'penny, for all she's a major dingbat, is lead hen & has done this so many times before I suspect she's over it & everyone else follows her lead. Portia was her only challenger but she's gone now. I suspect Wrold will become 2nd in command.

I do need some smooth feathered hens as I don't need sizzles to worry about.

Any ideas on which types of smooth hens? Hamburgs are small and cute. Might fit in with your lot? Same with Sebrights.

I've always wanted sebrights. They are lovely. Getting them could be the issue.

Most likely. One of my rowing coaches is a wildlife carer. She said there was also a little boy who didn’t make it, but she’s reared lots successfully.
