Well our Roo is feeling badly again. My husband feels that we need to go ahead and try some Tylan and see if it will give him the boost he needs to get completely over sickness. I found it on the TSC website but is states it is for cattle and swine? Here is the link: http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_43410_______14602|14619|43410?listingPage=true

Also
, does TSC sell the Tylan 50? It isn't listed on their site. And any one have any clue about dose for a bantum???

I use LA 200 which is an injectable...
1/2 cc for bantam size ...
I inject it just under the skin along breast bone.
this stuff works great for all my birds ..
you can purchase it at TSC also.
good luck..

We ended up with Tylan 50, TSC was out of Tylan 200 and didn't even want to sell me the Tylan 50 because they said I couldn't use it for chickens. Shows how much they know lol! I gave him 1/4 cc of it about 2 hours ago. When should I notice a good change? Also, can I give it twice a day? He really is not doing well at all.

I use Tylan 50, and used .25cc for my Mille Fleur D'Uccle (bantam). I used it for 3 days and it cleared up the respiratory infection. I also gave him vitamins/electrolytes during his treatment. After his treatment, I gave him some yogurt to get the good bacteria going again.

Good luck!

I don't know about giving it to him more than 1x per day. I wouldn't want to overdose him.

Kelli..i'm really out on a limb about dosing him twice in one day since he's so small. If he was a standard size i would say go for it in say like 8-10hrs. Hopefully you'll notice him pick up soon, tylan is good stuff. Has he been eating or drinking at all?

He was eating and drinking pretty well, now he's not. He will drink if I give it to him in a dropper and will eat if I give him banana mashed. My son takes vitamin B 50. I wonder if I could give him some of that by dropper?

I don't know much about the B50, but if you'll take yogurt/oatmeal and mix it together till it's where you can get it in a syringe..give that to him..you'll have to cook the oatmeal to do that. Make sure he stays hydrated too.

Well the roo seems to have perked up some. He is drinking the Vitamin Electrolyte water like crazy and ate a decent amount of chick started mixed with some canned dog food and I added some vitamin electrolyte water to make is soft and he LOVES it! He was awake longer than he has been in days, though he is sleeping alot still. One eye seems to be quite swollen but I am going to contribute that to the upper respitory infection. I flushed them with some saline eye drops to see if that would help. He had a little discharge earlier but hasn't since I flushed them.

When you treated yours how long did it take for them to really perk up and you know they would be okay?
