Roo (Eddie) , a Polish, was injured. My first thought was another roo. I'm not real real sure tho.
When found he was cowering in a corner of the yard. The pin feathers on top of his head were gone, and must have bled from that, there is no blood from broken skin, or broken skin
His comb and beak were crusted with blood, but after washing, there is no skin breakage.
There is a hardish bulge under his eye. He keeps his eye mostly closed, open sometimes, and the eye itself looks normal, but I don't know if he can see.
He holds his neck twisted to the side, like he's looking behind himself, and turns or walks back a few steps.
I fed him by hand for a few weeks. He looks for food when he sees me. I started putting the feeding in a bowl for a week now and although he eats and drinks on his own, I don't think it's enough, so I stand him in front of the feed, and he eats.
He gets aspirin and vitamins and vit E right now. He's had all the suggested care up till now.
I'm just trying to get a scenario here, cause I'm thinking the other Roo, but he had no broken skin, head feathers missing, bulge under his eye, I would have figured he would have some bleeding and broken skin. Thanks

The "other guy" sometimes escapes bleeding or bruises. You say more than a week? Strange actions for that long. Does the "other guy" chase him around? Might be a good idea to pen him alone for a while and watch him. Give him V&E and see what happens.......Pop

The suspected roo has been rehomed to a man with 15 hens. He was a nice roo, but I couldn't keep him.
Eddie was injured about 3 weeks ago. I guess I just can't understand how he could be so injured without breaking the skin?
