roo or hen, what breed for sure, this chick is mounting others?

To further confuse me, today I found an egg with this chicks feathers in the laying box. Also, the egg is very dark brown, so this is a new egg to my mix of colors. This is the chick that is mounting other laying hens.

looks like a bared rock to me, the mounting other chickens well could be a roo that was just in the nest after another hen laid or a very confused hen

Looks like a cockerel to me...Barred Plymouth Rock.

That Barred Rock looks rooish to me, BUT when there isn't a roo, the top hen will sometimes mount other hens to show superiority.

another pic. This chick took on the roo I had at the time and is very unfriendly to the other birds the same age. Today it was chasing them all over the yard. If you look at the tail feathers those are most definitely roo.

The reason the older hens are fighting with the younger barred rock cockerel is because they do not deem him "worthy." In their eyes, he is too young to cover them and he is just trying to uproot the pecking order. Once he matures, they will probably let him breed, unless there is another male in the yard that already has dibs on them.
