Picked this baby up on feb. 22 and just curious if you guys think roo or hen? I have my guess but never had a “Cochin” before so wanted other opinions! I would assume 5-6 weeks old

Pretty young, but the comb that is getting color, along with wattles becoming apparent, make me wonder if male.

however,I’ve had a couple of breeds where the females get comb/wattle development earlier than other breeds, and show some color so I’m not sure on your chick- I’ve never had Cochins.

hopefully someone who raises/has raised Cochins will reply!

Updated picture, moved out into the coop! 8ish weeks old.

My bet female. Comb is still pretty small, often Cockerels combs are higher at this point. Once it gets a bit older check the feathers on its back right before the tail. If the ends are pointed it's a male. Females feathers are rounded there. Looks like a buff cochin.
