Rooster Comb bleeding from frost bite I think???

Thanks all for the advice, but after putting the neosporin on it, I put him back out in the coop and this morning when I went to check on him, he had died ;( I am so bummed about it. Can a frozen/bleeding comb really make them die that quickly or do you think it could have been something else???? Thanks again for all the support! I really appreciate it!

I went online to get my answer. They said it is cutting off the comb! They go into more detail on why you should do it but it isn't recommended. Sounds scary to me. They also said that cutting off the wattle is called dewattling!

Here is there definition of dubbing:

~~Dubbing is a procedure used by poultry farmers to remove the comb from the head of the bird in an attempt to limit later damage by injury, freezing or cannibalism. Dubbing is also performed on birds for breed shows and cockfighting, but the practice is controversial and has been outlawed in some countries Read more: http://www.ehow.com/about_6382506_dubbing-poultry_.html#ixzz2qzSeiIJ6

LOL! I also looked up bumblefoot because I didn't know what that was either and that sounds pretty scary. I need to go out and check all of my hens' feet next. Have a good evening.
