Hi! I'm a rookie. Just built a beautiful coup, and have been raising what were supposed to be 3 Ameraucanas... (from a feed store - from a hatchery).

Interesting changes in pecking order, the original alpha is now the smallest (they are 8 weeks old), and the original runt is now the Alpha! Also, she has yellow legs, not ash, so I'm thinking these are Easter Eggers.

So, in light of said events, I worry she is a Roo. Opinions please! And she's an egger right? Not another variety?

Thanks!!

Feed stores often market their Easter Eggers as Ameracaunas... it sounds better. While your other two may be EEs, this one is definitely a hatchery quality Silver Laced Wyandotte, not an EE at all!

Edited to say: I'm almost certain that she is actually a he, also. x.x

AWwwwwwww! These 3 birds are the tamest, most inquisitive and friendly I have ever met. And of course no roosters allowed in my zone

I will miss "Frenchie" very much if you are correct.

Thanks for the ID!

I agree with Vora, that chick is definately a silver laced wyandotte. I have two and they are great chickens, calm, good layers.
