I would not let this clear up on its own... I've had something similar to my SLW roo.. We didnt notice his swollen feet until i found him all the way out in our pasture laying down... His foot and some of the leg was very swollen yet he acted perfectly fine. Of course i treated it everyday but that didnt work.. We ended up culling him as it had only gotten worse..Thanks for the reply, it's more squishy than firm and did feel warm to the touch. I washed and very thoroughly inspected the foot, only abnormallity was that reddened area, which didn't appear to me to be the source of bumble foot.
Good call on the bee sting, I do have active honey bees in the area, didn't connect that it could be a bee sting. The bees wander into the coop and drinknthe chickens water when it gets dry like we have seen for the past couple of weeks.
I'll read up on trimming the spurs, but this roo is fairly docile as I hatched him myself and have spent some time with him. (I think the spurs are cool.)
