Thanks, we’ll look at that spot this evening when we soak him and see if it’s a sore.

I didn’t know how accommodating he’d be. I’ve not held him since he was a few weeks old and his spurs are HUGE, lol. I’ll keep everyone updated.

So, today we soaked Morehead's foot again and were planning to do it again tomorrow and try to remove the plug. After soaking the foot, I could see the plug was sticking out. I just grabbed it and pulled and it came right out. Here's a pic. Did I get everything I was supposed to? We out on antibiotic ointment and wrapped it back up. Will the swelling on his toe go down now that the plug is our or should I give him antibiotic shots?

The plug is the solidified pus. You really should squeeze the toe a lot to make sure that you are getting it all out as best as possible. Perhaps you could soak it again, and try that if you didn’t do that already. Then dress the foot and change it every 2-3 days. Antibiotics are up to you, but most simple bumblefoot infections do not require it. What antibiotics do you have?

Tylan might help, but it is more for respiratory infection or enteritis in chickens. For wounds and infections, amoxicillin, clavamox, and cephalexin would be more affective. Some of those may be available online for fish. But if you have gotten most of the infection out, they are usually not necessary.
